Dale Techniche produces knitted fabrics for use in their own knitted garments and for sale. We also use woven and non woven fabrics from these materials in our outerwear products. Dale Techniche also produces flame retardant fabrics and garments from Kermel® and Protex® fibres. Kermel® is an aramid fibre similar to Nomex® and Protex® is a modified acrylic fibre, both have similar inherent flame retardant properties to Nomex®. Kermel® is usually blended with flame retardant viscose fibres to give a better handling and more price competitive product. Protex® is usually blended with cotton for the same reasons. It utilises Kevlar® fibres with other high tech products to achieve both comfort and performance. In addition to making fabrics and garments using inherently flame retardant fibres Dale Techniche produces flame retardant cotton fabrics and garments using Proban® treatment. This is a long lasting chemical treatment applied to the fabric during the dyeing and finishing process and is a competitive alternative.
